Staff Reporter

Chief Curator of the Central Zone of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Tapas Chatterjee on Friday inspected the pitch of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium at Parsada village here.

While inspecting the ground, Chatterjee issued necessary directives to the curators for making minor changes to the pitch.

The stadium is being prepared for eight matches of the Champions league T-20 cricket  matches to be played here from September 14 this year.

Chhattisgarh will host eight matches of the Champions league including six matches of the qualifying round and two matches of the final round.

Chatterjee along with the curator of Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh  (CSCS), Shameem Mirza keenly observed the pitch and the outfield of the stadium.

He touched the grass on the outfield and discussed with Mirza about levelling, outfield and other aspects of the ground.

Chatterjee was satisfied by the preparations and found minor shortcomings in the pitch.

He asked the local officers to prepare the ground according to BCCI guidelines.

A BCCI team had already conducted inspection of the stadium for sitting arrangement, live telecast, ticket sale etc.

CSCS office-bearers are maintaining regular communication with the BCCI and doing preparations according to their instructions.
