Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel held a discussion with doctors of AIIMS, Raipur, Medical Colleges and District Hospitals on the spread of Covid-19, its treatment, available resources and what more may be needed through video-conferencing from his official residence on Saturday.

Appreciating the doctors for fighting the Covid-19, Baghel said the people's morale is high only due to their       dedication. He called the     doctors "frontline warriors".

The Chief Minister sought details of the number of patients recovered, symptoms, treatment protocol, number of patients in ICU and regarding tests.

Baghel said for the asymptomatic patients of Covid-19, the government has suggested a home isolation guideline.

AIIMS Raipur Director Dr Nitin M. Nagarkar said that in AIIMS 1,452 patients were admitted out of which 1,086 patients had been discharged. Patients who died had earlier histories of other diseases like cancer, renal failure, TB and more. The hospital has 500 beds.

Baghel suggested tracking home isolation patients through mobile phone. Health workers, Anganwadi workers and civic bodies should be given the responsibility, he said. Those kept in home isolation should be assured of doctors’ advice and treatment in need.

Health Secretary Niharika Barik Singh said security forces arriving from outside are being kept in isolation and one isolation centre at Somani has been handed over to them.
