Staff Reporter

When it comes to farmers in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has forgotten to fulfil the election promises, BJP Vice President and former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said on Friday.

Addressing the Kisan Mahapanchayat in Kabirdham district, he said the Congress and Baghel had promised to pay `2,500 to buy paddy while the farmers have not got money even for last year’s paddy purchase.

The Congress also failed to give a bonus of `11,000 crore to the     farmers, he added.

The Congress had promised to impose total ban on liquor but now it is sold in every street, Singh said.

He said that two years ago the price of sand was `10,000 but it now cost `30-40,000.

As many as 255 farmers have committed suicide during Congress regime in the last two years, he added.

Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik also spoke at the Mahapanchayat.
