Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday took cognizance of media reports and extended medical and financial assistance to 13-month-old Harsh Dehre, whose parents were desperate for money after his operation for brain tumour.
Harsha, son of Balakram Dehre of Kawardha, was suffering from brain tumour. He was operated at AIIMS Raipur. He is now undergoing chemotherapy, an official communication said.
Due to financial constraints, Harsh's parents had taken to selling tea near the hospital. But it was not enough to take care of all the expenses of Harsh and their own survival.
Based on media reports, the Chief Minister asked Raipur Collector Dr Sarveshwar Bhurre to intervene and extend all assistance.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Mithlesh Chaudhary and Raipur Municipal Commission's Mayank Chaturvedi conducted an inquiry and submitted a report to the Collector.
Harsh was shifted to the infant ward at the Urban Community Health Centre near the Science College here.
The Raipur administration will take care of the boy's regular travel to AIIMS for chemotherapy. It has also provided financial help to Harsh's parents for medicines and other needs.
