Baghel accuses Modi of horse trading

Staff Reporter

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of promoting “horse trading” and wondered why Modi felt bad when he was called a “chor”, a thief.

Baghel was referring to PM’s recent claim in West Bengal that 40 MLAs from the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) were in touch with him to cross over to the BJP immediately after Lok Sabha elections were over.

The PM’s remark triggered a political controversy.

In a tweet Baghel said, “the chowkidar who claims ‘Na Khaunga Na Khane Dunga’ is now himself indulging in horse trading. By making the claim, the PM only testified that he was indeed a “chor,” the CM alleged.

“Why then he (Modi) feels bad when anyone calls him thief (Chor)”, Baghel added.

“Forty MLAs are in the pocket of Modi and Modi himself is in the pocket of his corporate friend Ambani”, he said. ‘

He further added: “He (Modi) must keep in mind that this time the people of the country will tear apart his pocket. The wait is only till May 23.”
