The winter session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly slated to be held from December 15 to 24 is going to be a stormy one with the Opposition Congress party preparing to raise issues pertaining to the sterilisation deaths and paddy procurement.
“We will raise the issues on paddy procurement policy and crop insurance scheme, botched sterilisation surgeries, missing women and children, surrender by insurgents, land allotted to industries and other issues during the Assembly session” ClP leader, TS Singhdeo while addressing a news conference here.
He said that the Congress party had brought a ‘no confidence motion’ against the Assembly Speaker in the last session. The issue is still alive and we will ask the government to inform the Assembly if any action was taken in this regard, he said. ‘We will take expert advice on the issue to decide further course of action’, he said.
While expressing the need of extending duration of the Assembly session for minimum 60 or maximum 90 sittings, the senior Congress leader stated that the time allotted is too short to cover all the issues during the coming session.
He also demanded to hold discussions on the reports of different departments presented by the Chief Minister and the ministers concerned along with the CAG report during the session. As per the schedule, the session will see seven sittings and will conclude on December 24. Singhdeo said to decide their tactics during a meeting of legislature Team scheduled on December 1.
He stated to hold the coming Assembly session with mutual understanding of both the major political parties as a good sign.
