nAICC In charge for the party’s affairs in Chhattisgarh P.L. Punia in a statement on Friday said that the appointment of new National President of the party would be done within a week.
Punia was talking to media persons here at Swami Vivekanand Airport, Raipur.
He denied that he was here to review the performances of government and the ministers in the state cabinet. “It is the people of the state who will judge them”, he said, clarifying on the news published by a section of media.
Regarding restructuring of working committees of the state Congress, Punia said it would be done with the approval of the party president.
Dedicated workers would get priority in the state, district and block level executive bodies and action would be taken against those office bearers who have worked against the interest of the party, he said.
Notable, Punia is on three day’s tour of the state and will chair various meetings and programmes of the organization.
He will be on a tour of Mahasamund and Nawagaon on Saturday. Punia will hold a one-to-one talk with ministers in Baghel cabinet on Sunday and will return to national capital through regular Indigo flight on Sunday night.
