Ambedkar hospital parking contract cancelled

Staff Reporter

The vehicle parking contract of Dr Ambedkar hospital here has been cancelled for the second time.

After the lifting of election model code of conduct, the hospital administration will call tender for the third time. At present, the hospital employees are manning the vehicle parking arrangement here.

Every day large number two-wheelers and four-wheelers arrive at the biggest hospital of the State. Many times disputes over vehicle parking have arisen. Relatives and visitors of patients, without paying any heed to anyone, park their vehicles at their will. That creates problems for the people coming to the hospital. In order to deal with such

situation, every year parking arrangements are given on contract.

It has been said that the contract for parking at Dr Ambedkar hospital had been ended on December 31, 2013.

Immediately after the termination of the contract, applications were invited through tender. Only three applications were received, out of which, two have been rejected.

As there was no competition, tender was called for the second time, which has drawn seven applications, out of which five have been rejected. As there remained only two applications, the contract could not be given as per rule.

According to Public relations officer of the hospital Shubhra Singh Thakur the vehicle parking tender has been rejected for the second time also.

Now the hospital employees are overseeing the parking arrangement in three shifts. Because of the election model code of conduct, tender could not be invited for the third time. After lifting of the code, tender will be invited, he added.
