In view of the impending gale and heavy rain due to cyclone, Chhattisgarh Energy Department Secretary Aman Singh on Saturday evening held a high-level emergency meeting. The meeting was attended by top officials of power companies.
In the meeting, officials of power distribution company, transmission company as well as generation company were instructed to remain extra vigilant for maintaining uninterrupted power supply and quick redressal of grievances of power consumers in the State. Field officials were directed to cancel the leave granted to employees and issue no further leave with a view to solve the problem of consumers at the earliest and keep the power supply unaffected of the cyclone.
The meeting was attended by MD of power distribution company Subodh Kumar Singh, MD of Transmission Company Vijay Singh and MD of power generation company Janardan Kar besides others. Since the possibility of damage to transformer, supply line or electricity poles remains maximum during cyclonic gale, people at large have been requested to report such incident if happens near their residences to the nearest power distribution or electricity office immediately to avoid any loss of life and property.
Specially field officials of the power distribution company have been instructed to remain vigilant round the clock with full gang strength and repairing material/ equipment so that disruption in power supply could be tackled quickly.The officials also urged consumers to maintain calm and help power company officials in the time of natural calamity.
