Staff Reporter

nThe allegations regarding fraud in collection of funds for construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya are totally baseless, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) declared here on Thursday.

The ‘Samparpan Rashi’ (donation) is being deposited with total transparency in the bank accounts. There is no need to reply to the allegations, said Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust and Vice President of  VHP.

He was on a visit to Raipur.

On Congress demand to provide details of the `14,000 crores collected, Rai told the media that it is for the Income Tax department to work on it.

From 5 lakh villages, 14 crore families are supporting the temple construction, he said.

The 500-year-old fight is over with Lord Rama     getting the right place in Ayodhya, he said.

He said work for building a Ram temple has begun. The foundation will cover flood and earthquake challenges. Architecture experts have been included in the work as no steel is being used in the construction.

By January 31, workers will approach each family with coupons of `1,000, `100 and `10 as contribution. This drive will continue till February 27 across the country, he said.
