Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand on Thursday in a circular called upon all the Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors, senior bank officials and State-level Bankers' Committee co-ordinators to update and alert the bank mitras on the Jan Dhan bank accounts regarding demonetization.
If there are no bank mitras in certain regions, they will be appointed soon, he said.
He called upon the top officials to update Aadhaar seeding, mobile seeding and distribute RuPay cards.
About 1.17 crore Jan Dhan bank accounts had been opened in 27 districts of the State till October 19 this year. A total of 39,80,619 Jan Dhan accounts have 'zero' bank balance, officials informed.
The Chief Secretary in his circular said that primary report on the Adhaar seeding, mobile seeding and distribution of RuPay cards should be filed by November 28 and thereafter progress report should be prepared every Monday.
The banks should contact the District Collectors regarding the appointment of new bank mitras, he said.
