School Education Minister Brijmohan Agrawal has stressed on the need for holding of a special programme during the ‘School Admission Festival’ on June 17 in which all children together could be offered admission in schools.

The Minister in a letter to all the principal of schools have expressed hope that the initiative would help provide free and compulsory education to all children.

Agrawal said that the ‘School Admission Festival’ is being held in the State for many years to send all children to the schools. The festival this year is being held from June 17 to July 15.

He said that special attention be paid to the need for regular attendance of children admitted between Standard I to VIII in the schools. For this, he said that a decisiobn had been taken for regular review of the academic session.

The Minister said that school management committees had been formed for

carrying out true value of the education being imparted to children in schools.

Agrawal said that these committees would develop an action plan and carry out a quarterly review for effective implementation of the

educational activities so that no hurdles are faced.

The Minister urged the social organisations to offer their contribution in improving quality of education in the State.

Agrawal in his letter has also urged the citizens for taking an initiative in keeping the schools clean and offer their assistance from the next academic session.

He informed that the process of filling up the vacant seats of teachers in various schools is underway.

‘It is heartening to know that the registration of almost all children are happening in the primary schools and there had also been a rise in the admission of children in the pre-primary schools,’ the Minister said.

‘We need to focus on children who stop coming to schools.  All school going children need to be registered so that they receive their early education.

For this,  there is a need to prepare list of school dropouts and those yet to be registered for schools before the beginning of the ‘School Admission Festival’’, Agrawal said.
