A large number of nurses of Government hospitals on Friday courted arrest while on strike for last one fortnight. The State Government had earlier enforced Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA).
After ESMA, they were asked to resume duty from Friday but the nurses not bending to the pressure mounted by the Government continued their stir on Friday too.
On report of Chief Medical and Health Officer for violation of ESMA, police on Friday arrested the agitating nurses from their dharna site at Idgah Bhata in the city.
