The bus transporters with a single inter-State round permit if caught going on a second round will have to face stern action. This was informed during a meeting of State Transport Department chaired by Transport Minister Rajesh Munat at the Mantralaya here on Wednesday. In the view of upcoming 'lok Suraj Abhiyan' — the State Government's massive public relation campaign — the Minister instructed Transport department officials to ensure field visits.
"Check permits, fitness and license of vehicle on road and initiate strict action against buses carrying commuters more than the approved capacity," Munat instructed officers while adding that they should work for providing better transport facility and make the services provided by Transport officer more convenient.
He asked officials to ensure holding of learning license camp in educational institutions during lok Suraj Abhiyan but after holding meeting with the Principal. Before making of license, documentaries related with road safety, road signs and driving rules should be shown to the applicant, the Minister opined.
While discussing services like online payment of vehicle tax the Minister said extending various welfare services provided by Department was the duty of officials.
