Act strictly against people ignoring Covid norms: Collector

Staff Reporter

The Raipur Collector on Wednesday told the district administration to act strictly against people violating Covid-19 norms and file FIRs against those who obstruct pandemic management work.

He gave the instructions during a meeting of Covid Task Force held at the Red Cross Society building, a press release said.

Collector Dr S. Bharti Dasan observed that Covid cases have increased. To stop its spread, all incident commanders should do contact tracing.

“It has been observed that people are not serious about using masks. Directives for home isolation should be followed strictly,” he said.

In a few states Covid cases have increased. There are chances this may happen in Chhattisgarh too. So, all officers must work in a time bound and coordinated way, he said.

He appealed to the residents of Raipur to follow Covid appropriate behaviour like using masks, maintaining physical and social distancing and using sanitizer.

The Collector said FIR can be filed against those creating hurdles in the work of pandemic management.

Incident commanders can get the FIR registered and the Senior Superintendent of Police of Raipur will make sure that strict action is initiated against such persons, he said.
