Food and Civil Supplies Minister Punnulal Mohle on Friday said in the Chhattisgarh Assembly that between 2008-09 and 2011-12, more than Rs198 crore of paddy shortage was registered in the State. In 2011-12 , paddy worth Rs36.28 crore got destroyed, he said in a written reply to leader of Opposition TS Singhdeo in the Chhattisgarh Assembly.
Replying to another question of BJP member Ramlal Chouhan, the Minister said that during the Kharif Marketing Year 2012-13, 71.36 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy was procured at support price and in 2013-14, 79.72 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured from the co-operative societies.
