The District Electoral Office in Raipur has served notice to 53 candidates for not inspecting their election expenditure for the Birgaon Municipal Corporation (BMC) election in Chhattisgarh.
BMC Returning Officer B.B. Panchbhai said 186 candidates were asked to audit their poll expenditure, an official statement said on Friday.
Of 186, 133 submitted their audit report while 53 failed to do so. The 53 have asked to submit their audit report within 24 hours.
The civic bodies elections are to be held in 15 urban civic bodies in the state on December 20.
