School Education and Tribal Development Minister Kedar Kashyap on Saturday reached the State Government run ‘Prayas’ residential school in Gudhiyari and interacted with the students here.
“Prayas institution through its achievements has carved an identity of its own not only in Chhattisgarh but across India. This is the result of efforts put together by students of this institution,” he said.
Kashyap later told students that the State Government was striving to make sure that education reaches the far-flung regions and tribal dominated parts of the State.
“For ensuring that children living in Naxal-infested region receive quality education, Prayas Schools are being run,” he said while adding that students here are being provided with coaching facilities to crack All India level Engineering and Medical entrance examinations.
The Minister also took the opportunity to explain them various programmes run by the State Government for talented students from economically weaker sections.
He informed them about the ‘Tribal Youth Hostel’ functioning in national capital New Delhi.
Kashyap further said that very soon 500 seat hostels would come up in Ambikapur and Jagdalpur.
