About 2.89 lakh citizens participated in a human chain in Chhattisgarh to create awareness among the masses regarding cleanliness under the 'Swachch Bharat' campaign.
About 1886 human chains and 11,278 Swachhta Awareness 'Raths' gave a message of cleanliness.
Panchayat and Rural Development Department officials said that about 232 human chains were formed at district—level, 398 human chains at Development blocks'— level and 258 human chains were formed at gram panchayats'-level.
Hundreds of 'Awareness Raths' created awareness regarding cleanliness in districts, 470 Raths operated at Development blocks' level and 724 Swachhta Awareness Raths went around the villages.
