25% less voting this year reflects BJP's failure: Congress

SR

Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) on Saturday termed that recording ‘only’ 52 per cent voting in Antagarh bypoll, is a clear setback to the ruling BJP for allegedly ‘buying out’ other candidates to ensure its victory.

Taking a dig at the BJP-led State Government for allegedly misusing Government machinery in the poll, ClP leader TS Singhdeo said “Antagarh Assembly seat witnessed 25 per cent less voting in comparison to last Vidhan Sabha election (77 per cent) held in 2013. This clearly showcased the voters’ anger towards ‘undemocratic game’ of BJP”. Singhdeo added that as low as 52 per cent voting recorded in absence of Congress party’s candidate and after 10 independent candidates withdrew their nomination from the fray.
