About 2.67 lakh children will be administered vitamin A and Iron syrup during the ‘Shishu Sanrakshan Saptah’ starting in Chhattisgarh on January 22.
These doses will be administered in 2,306 proposed sessions, a press release said on Thursday.
“Iron and vitamin A doses improve the nutrition level of children. Absence of Iron and vitamin A could hamper the mental and physical growth of children,” the release said.
Children up to nine months will be given 1 ML of vitamin while children between 1 and 5 years will be administered 2 ML of vitamin A. Children between six months and 5 years will be given 1 ML Iron folic syrup.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Meera Baghel said the syrup will be provided free of cost.
