19 BJP faces get plump posts in Govt

Staff Reporter

After a prolonged wait, as many as 19 BJP leaders including seven legislators, managed to get key berths in Board and Corporations in Chhattisgarh Government on Saturday. Government appointed three more

parliamentary secretaries as well.

The appointments were carried out after Chief Minister Raman Singh approved the final list. The appointments were basically held to pacify several party leaders who had been lobbying for nearly two years, seeking reward  for themselves in Government in return of their contributions in party’s winning hat-trick in assembly polls held  in November 2013.

Those appointed parliamentary secretaries are Bindranawagarh assembly seat legislator Govardhan Singh Manjhi, Takhatpur seat legislator Raju Singh Kshatri  and Champa Devi Pawle, legislator from Bharatpur Sonhat seat

Bilaigarh legislator Sanam Jangde has been appointed as vice-chairman in Scheduled Caste Authority, Khallari legislator Chunnilal Sahu as vice-chairman in Other Backward Castes Authority, Jashpur legislator Rajsharan Bhagat as vice-chairman in Surguja Development Authority and Antagarh legislator Bhojraj Nag as vice-chairman in Bastar Development Authority.

Former minister in Raman cabinet and ex-MP from Mahasamund lok Sabha seat, Chandrasekhar Sahu has also been rehabilitated with a plump post. He has been appointed chairman of State Finance Commission while Purandar Mishra as chief of Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA). Naresh Gupta has found berth as a member in State Finance Commission while Kedar Gupta sneaked into Chhattisgarh Tourism Board as vice-chairman. Harshita Pandey has been appointed as Chief of State Women Commission.

The new parliamentary secretaries are likely to take charge next week.
