The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission announced on Wednesday that the voters can present any of the 17 documents as Identity proof in the upcoming local bodies’ elections at the polling booth.
The Commission in an order said the documents include Election Commision voters’ Identity card, Bank/Post-Office passbook with photo, passport, pancard, Aadhaar card, State/Central Government, Public Sector Undertakings and local bodies Identity cards with photos issued to officers and employees.
The Pension documents with photos, MNREGA job card, Smart card with photo, driving licence, Freedom fighter’s identity card with photo, Marksheets with photo issued by the Central and State Madhyamik Siksha Mandal to 10th and 12th students, photo identity card issued by the Bar Council to member lawyers, photo identity card issued to physically handicapped, photo ration card issued by the Chhattisgarh Government are also valid.
The photo identity card issued by the college or university is also valid and the voters should bring any of the identity cards to the booth and present it to the polling officer.
