The Chhattisgarh government is developing 10,000 Anganwadi centres as model centres, an official communiqué said on Tuesday.
Anganwadi centres are crucial for the successful implementation of welfare programmes and schemes for children and women.
A total of 1,047 Anganwadi centres have been revamped as Bal Sulabh Kendras.
In areas where Anganwadi centres currently lack proper infrastructure, the government is prioritizing the construction of Anganwadi buildings to improve convenience for beneficiaries.
For 2023–24, a target has been set to construct 5,000 additional Anganwadi buildings.
In coordination with the School Education Department, pre-schools will be started in over 5,000 Anganwadi centres in line with the New Education Policy.
