Chhattisgarh Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma has suggested red ant ‘chutney’ can help treat Covid infection.
He made the statement while addressing a medical camp at Dharampura in Jagdalpur on Friday.
The Minister said that Central government agencies should do research on this.
“Corona infection has spread all over the world. Even people in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata where health facilities are better are badly impacted by Covid infection. However, people in Bastar are less infected by Coronavirus,” he said.
"I travelled to different parts of Bastar and also in the state when Corona infection was at its peak but I was not infected. I ate red ant chutney (chapda) and was saved from Corona infection," he said.
In Bastar, people eat Chapda when they suffer from cold and fever, Lakhma said.
