Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday came down heavily on Centre’s ‘Agnipath Scheme’ and expressed his concern on the circumstances to take place if retired Agniveers are misguided. What would happen if they take up arms and form a ‘gang’ after the retirement of services in four years.
Talking to reporters, Baghel said Centre was claiming that these youths would be inducted in police after retirement in four years. As could these youths in large number be accommodated in state police, he said.
He further added that the functioning police and army were different. On one hand the police cops had to tackle the law and order situation, the army personnel had to fight against the enemy, he said.
The Modi government at centre instead of recruiting regular army personnel is lingering it and is planning for a temporary arrangement, he said.
