Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary R.P. Mandal on Tuesday asked officials to complete all paddy procurement related preparations by December 1.
He chaired a state-level review meeting related to the preparation of paddy procurement through video conferencing from the State Secretariat in Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur, a government press release said.
He instructed all the Commissioners, district Collectors and all related office heads to put extra effort to complete arrangements of the essential logistics and services for ensuring hassle-free paddy procurement during Kharif season 2020-21.
He also told the officials to resolve the pending issue of paddy procurement 2019-20.
This year, paddy procurement will begin from December 1. The government has set a target of procuring 90 lakh tonnes of paddy worth `22,500 crores from farmers in Chhattisgarh, Mandal said in a press release.
He told the officers to ensure proper availability of paddy sacks at the procurement centres.
He instructed them to collect 3 lakh jute sacks -- 1 lakh from government ration shops and the rest from rice millers.
