Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha has thanked Chief Minister Raman Singh forhaving concern for the farmers to provide them bonus on time for which the supplementary appropriation bill of Rs 2,433 crore was passed in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Wednesday.

The party’s Farmers’ Cell termed the protest by Congress party on the issue as ‘unwarranted’.

Morcha State President Poonam Chandrakar and General Secretary Yudhistir Chandrakar in a statement said that decision of the State Government to provide the hiked Minimum Support Price on paddy along with providing the bonus of Rs 300 per quintal before the Diwali festival, shows its farmer friendly concerns.

It is a revolutionary decision.

That is why the State Government has brought supplementary budget and cleared it in a special session, they said.

Now the farmers would get the price of their produce along with their bonus, they said.

Attacking Congress leaders, the duo said that even though Congress party has been doing politics in the name of farmers, but they are unable to do anything in favour of farmers.

The BJP Government thinks about farmers’ economic progress along with their self-reliance which is creating problem for the Congress leaders, they said.

The Congress leaders are concerned that if Government continues to favour the farmers, then they would not be able to do politics which is generating sense of fear among them, they said.
