During undivided Madhya Pradesh, people of Chhattisgarh used to face problems even for getting basic amenities. But after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power, the entire scenario drastically changed, Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Uma Bharti said on Monday.

She was addressing a public meeting at Bazar Atriya at Khairagarh.

Bharti recalled her old association with Chhattisgarh.

Appreciating the work done by ruling BJP government led by Chief Minister Raman Singh in Chhattisgarh, she said that now through developmental works undertaken, the State had been made prosperous.

“The residents have easy access to food grains, telecommunications connectivity, TV, internet, education, healthcare besides other facilities”, Bharti said.

Commenting on Congress party, she said that the Congress government during its rule in Chhattisgarh had looted people. People have faith in BJP as it stands with people during the time of joy and crisis, she said.
