BLACK TURMERIC: This turmeric looks different; it resembles knobby ginger. It is a rare herb, but it contains the highest concentrations of curcumin of any plant species. It is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory herb.

The root has been used medicinally for centuries to treat arthritis, asthma, and epilepsy. Black turmeric root is crushed and can be applied to bruises and sprains to ease discomfort or applied to the forehead to help relieve symptoms of migraines.

The turmeric can also be used in fever, joint pain, skin disorder, respiratory disorders, dyspepsia, vomiting, abdominal cramp and cough, among others.

While there are no studies to prove that black turmeric can reduce the effects of COVID-19, it has been found that eating not more than one gm of black turmeric daily for five days can reduce the effects of this virus.

The root is also used in the treatment in cancer.
