Got a sudden stitch in your backIJ There is so much you can do with herbs that has no connection with your food platter. ROSHANI DEVI tells you about some innovative ways to deal with inadvertent backaches
Ginger, basil, poppy seeds and even wheat are things God made for dealing not just with your hunger pangs and tongue delights but also to deal with aches, pains and inflammations that can be tackled at home, sometimes. Here are a few for backaches:
Ginger is a wonder root we all know but did you know that its paste helps immensely in reducing and even healing backpainIJ Grind ginger root finely and apply directly on the painful area of the back and then rub some eucalyptus oil for best results.
Alternately thinly slice ginger root and boil it in a cup of water for around 8 to 10 minutes. After it cools, strain it and add honey to the concoction and sip it slowly, two to three times a day for a couple of days to improvement.
Blackpepper, clove and ginger powder works equally well but in peak summers, these hot spices may cause rushes.
Did you know that the good old Wheat has analgesic compounds which can minimise painIJ Soak wheat grains overnight.
In the morning, mix in cuscus grass powder and green coriander. Add a cup of milk and boil it for a few minutes until it thickens. Drink the mixture twice daily for maximum relief.
Basil soup and paste too work well.
