Four brothers allegedly gangraped a 28-year-old woman while she was returning home from work in Outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area around 5.30 pm on Wednesday, said police.
The woman — gangraped after being served a cold drink laced with sedatives by her former landlord’s sons — was taken to an isolated spot in Jalebi Chowk after she lost consciousness.
It was here that the three men, all brothers were joined by their fourth brother, in taking turns to rape her. After committing the crime they abandoned her. As they didn’t snatch her mobile phone, the victim called up her sister who rushed to her help. Police suspect that the four accused were stalking the woman, who had only recently shifted out of the building owned by alleged rapists’ father.
The woman claimed that after she separated from her husband, with whom she was married for past two years, she had started living alone and took up a part-time job and was pursuing a vocational course.
Police said they have registered a case at Sultanpuri police station but no arrest was made till the filing of the report.
