The West Bengal Government and the Opposition parties in Tamil Nadu on Saturday criticised the Centre for banning sale and purchase of cattle from animal markets for slaughter and said it cannot take such a unilateral decision in a federal structure.
While, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami said he would comment on the ban after going through the notification in this regard, the Opposition parties in the State, however, condemned the move and demanded that the Centre withdraw the controversial notification banning sale of cattle for slaughter at animal markets.
