BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi hit out at the Congress on Friday at an election rally in Chhattisgarh saying that, “a tea seller is better than a Prime Minister who sells the nation.”

“Is it the crime to be poorIJ A tea seller should be the Prime Minister or not only people will decide but a tea seller is better than having a Prime Minister who sells the nation. UPA leaders are cheating the poor by insulting them...The poor will have their revenge,”  Modi remarked at the rally which is dubbed as one of the biggest election rallies in Raigarh district, which is considered the stronghold of the Congress for decades.

launching a scathing attack on the Congress, Modi said, “Shahzada says I want to change the system. Please tell me who ruled the nation for 60 yearsIJ And who spoiled themIJ Shahzada, your father, your grandmother and great grandfather put these systems and they only spoiled them for their own interests.”

The BJP’s poster boy criticised Congress president Sonia Gandhi for attacking BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh in her recent speech and suggested her “to do homework” before questioning the Raman Singh Government. Modi said, “If you do not have information, fax Dr Raman Singh’s office, and I can assure you they will provide you all the facts.’’

“Sonia ji comes here and says Maoism is increasing under the Raman Singh regimeIJ You commit the sin and blame us,” he remarked and added, “Congress friends, you are surviving due to the goodwill of the media towards you. The Vajpayee Government enacted a law against terror. Sonia ji, your Government killed POTA.”

Modi said that the Congress Government in Delhi is least bothered about welfare of people because the Congress people are always in front of TV and on phone to spy “where is Modi, what is he doingIJ”.Raising the issue of attack on veteran singer lata Mangeshkar by some Congress leaders for backing him as prime ministerial nominee, Modi said this smacked of fascism and was against the norms of democracy. “Isn’t Congress acting like HitlerIJ”he asked.
