Shazia quits AAP to protest Kejriwal's anarchy, Gopinath follows suit

The simmering discontent in the fledgling AAP since its lS poll debacle came to the fore on Saturday when two of its key members, Shazia Ilmi and GR Gopinath, quit citing differences with the party leadership.

Ilmi slammed Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘jail politics’ and the lack of ‘internal democracy’ within the party. Indicating an emerging dissidence within the party, she said other MlAs and MPs are discontent with the ‘gatekeepers’ of Kejriwal. The party, battling internal fissures, was rendered a body blow with the resignation of Ilmi.
