CBSE Class 10, 12 exams from Feb 16
The CBSE Class 10 and 12 board examinations will begin on February 16, 2027, the board announced on Friday. The Class 10 exams will conclude on March 9, while Class 12 exams will end on April 9. “In Class X, students will appear in 83 subjects and in Class XII, students will appear in 121 subjects. The date sheets are being released 101 days in advance of the commencement of examinations,” CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said. Adequate gaps have been provided between examinations of subjects commonly offered together by students in both class 10 and 12, he said. “The tentative schedules of major entrance examinations for class 12 students have been taken into account. Every effort has been made to complete the board examinations well before the commencement of such entrance examinations, enabling students to manage their preparation effectively,” he added.
Father of Meghan Markle arrested
Thomas Markle, the father of Prince Harry’s wife Meghan, was arrested Friday morning by federal agents in Florida on charges related to child sexual abuse material, people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press. The people who confirmed his arrest were not authorised to publicly discuss the investigation and spoke on the condition of anonymity. Thomas Markle was taken into custody near Tampa. Meghan Markle recently said she was “deeply distressed” by allegations that a collection of child sexual abuse images had been found at her father’s former home. She also revealed that a letter containing “troubling allegations” about him had been sent to London police in 2018. Meghan, an American citizen who starred in the US television drama “Suits,” married Harry at Windsor Castle in 2018. They have two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Her father, a retired television lighting and photography director, did not attend the wedding, prompting extensive coverage in the British media of Meghan’s estrangement from her father. Meghan said she decided to distance herself from him to protect her children.
