PNS

In a setback to the arrested West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee, the Calcutta High Court late on Sunday directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to transfer him to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in an air ambulance on Monday morning. The court was hearing the ED's plea against the transfer of the arrested West Bengal Minister to the State-run SSKM Hospital.

The Minister's aide, Arpita Mukherjee, from whose residence the ED seized Rs 21 crore in cash, has been remanded to one-day ED custody. She will be produced before the special court on Monday.  The court said that the accused Chatterjee would be taken to the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata by an ambulance from the SSKM Hospital and would be accompanied by his advocate and an SSKM doctor. The court has asked the AIIMS Bhubaneswar authorities to medically examine the accused by a team of specialist doctors in cardiology, nephrology, respiratory medicine, and endocrinology.
