In yet another case of sexual misconduct against minors in the Capital, a three-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at her school in North West Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, police said on Wednesday.
The incident came to light when the child, a nursery student, came home from school with injuries, said sources. The victim’s father then reported the incident to police.
“The doctor has confirmed that it is a case of sexual assault. We have registered an FIR under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. We are investigating the matter from all angles. We are not ruling out the role of the school or any one from the family or neighbours. Investigation is on and the child is stable and currently at home,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Aslam Khan.
However, as investigation is going on, no arrest has been made, police said.
