Former Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, who spent 16 years in exile in India, died on Tuesday. He was 80.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India has lost a valued friend. Koirala was also president of the Nepali Congress. He died due to failure of respiratory system.
Koirala was the PM from February 11, 2014 to October 10, 2015. He will be remembered as a leader under who Nepal promulgated the new Constitution through the constituent assembly in September 2015.
