Manish Tewari raises voice of dissent

Even as Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed on Saturday said they would respond in a day or two to AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal’s letter to party president Sonia Gandhi, Union Minister Manish Tewari disagreed with the party’s decision to offer unconditional support to AAP.

“We will examine the letter and get back to Kejriwal in a day or two,” Ahmed, who had earlier written to the AAP leader about the readiness of the Congress to support an AAP Government from outside if it was prepared to form the Government, said. This was after the party chief forwarded Ahmed the letter written by Kejriwal to her.

For his part, though terming it as his personal opinion, Tewari said, “I do not think we should have done it at all. We ruled for 15 years for good, bad or ugly. People have rejected us. We should accept the verdict in all humility,” he said at a media event. He said it was really between the BJP and the AAP, which have emerged as the two largest parties in Delhi, to find ways to form a Government.
