The BJP on Wednesday suspended its MP Kirti Azad for anti-party activities with immediate effect. “Darbhanga MP Kirti Azad is suspended with immediate effect for anti-party activities,” said a party statement signed by BJP general secretary and headquarters in-charge Arun Singh.
The BJP MP has, for long, been targeting Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the latter’s role in the alleged corruption at DDCA without specifically naming him.
Azad has been sounded a note of caution by the party on his “activities” and asked to scale down his campaign on the issue. In Parliament, the Congress was egging Azad to raise the issue of DDCA.
Jaitley has already filed a defamation suit of `10 crore against six people, including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, for accusing him of graft.
Reacting to his suspension, Azad described the action as “unfortunate” saying he would continue his fight against “corruption”.
