Two doyens of the country’s corporate sector — Russi Mody and CP Krishnan Nair — passed away. Russi Mody (96) breathed his last on Friday night. He was the chairman of Tisco (now Tata Steel) from 1984 to March 1993. He later took over as the Joint Chairman of Air India and the erstwhile Indian Airlines.

Close on the heels of Mody’s death, the news of the demise of Hotel leelaventure founder CP Krishnan Nair further shocked the corporate world. Nair (92) passed away on Saturday morning. Nair ventured into textiles industry and later started the luxury hospitality chain under the leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts brand.
