After a week-long flip flop, the Bijnor police on Tuesday claimed to have finally solved the case of the brutal killing of NIA Deputy SP Tanzil Ahmad. Family feud and a personal enmity were attributed as motives for the killing.

The police on Tuesday arrested the two suspects — Reyan, aka Rehan, and Mohamed Zaini, aka Zainul — who were being interrogated for the last ten days. The prime conspirator has been identified as one Muneer, who is on the run. Reyan is a relative of the slain officer.

Briefing the media, IG (Bareilly Zone), Vijay Singh Meena claimed, Reyan and his cohort Zaini were arrested early Tuesday morning. However, prime accused Muneer, on whom a cash reward of Rs 50,000 has been announced, was still on the run. During quizzing, Reyan claimed that the cop used to harass and insult him and his family members regularly and Tanzil got him arrested on a fake mobile theft charge.

Reyan accused Tanzil of grabbing a prime property in New Delhi by putting pressure on his uncle and aunt. Similarly, Tanzil was also accused of putting pressure on other family members of Reyan and grabbing their properties.
