The law is set to catch up with Delhi Minister Somnath Bharti and his supporters in connection with their midnight raid against four Nigerian women in Malviya Nagar area of South Delhi last week.
Following a city court order, the Delhi Police on Sunday lodged a criminal case against accused persons. The FIR mentions the local MlA and his supporters, but did not name Bharti directly. The order came after the women moved an application seeking registration of criminal case against Bharti and his associates.
Metropolitan Magistrate Chetna Singh directed that video footage of the incident be shown to the foreign nationals for identification and the FIR will be filed against those identified by the foreign nationals. However, the Delhi Police said it would conduct a Test Identification Parade to establish the alleged involvement of Bharti in the case.
