Rejecting BJP’s charge on Congress former president Sonia Gandhi’s “Karnataka sovereignty” remark as “fakery and falsehood”, the Congress accused the BJP of denigrating the State’s “swabhimaan”.
“The desperation of Prime Minister Modi and the BJP is glaring as they seek to clutch at straws for want of a narrative in Karnataka. We reject the fakery and falsehood being perpetuated by PM as he refuses to answer a single question on why BJP is denigrating the ‘swabhimaan’ of Karnataka,” said Congress general secretary in-charge of the State Randeep Surjewala.
The Congress leader said, “The PM should answer on the ‘40 per cent commission BJP Sarkar’. Excuses cannot be the refuge of BJP in this election.”
Surjewala also asked, “Why are GST dues of Karnataka worth over `8,000 crore not being released by Modi Government? Why has reference to Lord Basavanna, Kovempu, Kanaka Das omitted or partially removed from text books?”
