Strongly reacting to the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar by the CBI in an alleged corruption case, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday slammed the Centre calling the arrest as a conspiracy to destabilise the AAP Government.
Questioning the timing of the arrest of Kumar, Deputy Secretary Tarun Sharma, and transfer of eleven officers, Sisodia said the Centre is trying to paralyse the Delhi Government. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying every trick in the book to harass and paralyse the functioning of the Delhi Government. The Modi Government launched three major attacks on Monday to destroy the Delhi Government,” said a combative Manish Sisodia.
“I challenge the Modi Government that even if you leave peons... we will get work done with peons. The Modi Government is taking revenge for the election defeat from the people of Delhi,” Sisodia told reporters.
Terming it an “unprecedented (development) in 23 years, Sisodia said Kumar’s arrest clearly indicated that the ruling dispensation was trying to paralyse the CM’s Office as they fear defeat at the hands of the AAP in the upcoming Assembly polls.
Soon after reports of Kumar’s arrest became public, Sisodia was the first one to launch a direct attack on the Central Government. He said, “Yesterday, there was a successful rally of the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab. The situation in Goa is also set. The AAP will win Goa as well. Modi-led Central Government is so scared that now they are hatching conspiracies to paralyse the Chief Minister’s Office.” Sisodia said the Central Government had stooped to a new low and just because elections were round the corner, Modi was feeling threatened by the response AAP was receiving in Punjab and Goa.
Sisodia also slammed the Centre for transferring eleven officers, who were working with the State Government, allegedly without any meeting of the Joint Cadre Authority (JCA). “Eleven senior officers have been transferred out of Delhi in a single day that is too illegally without meeting of Joint Cadre Authority. Senior officer handling major project of large-scale development of unauthorised colonies in next one year has been transferred to Andaman.
The MHA has transferred Sanjiv Ahuja (MD DSIIDC), Ajay Gupta (administrator Delhi Consumer Cooperative and Wholesale Store ), Gitika Sharma (additional secretary to CM), Shashi Kaushal (special director education), Richa (ADM south), Sushil Singh (joint labour commissioner), KS Meena (joint secretary (urban development), Sunil Kumar Singh (deputy commissioner south MCD ) and Manoj Kumar Dwivedi (ADM south east currently under posting).
“Senior officer in-charge of ambitious project of installation of CCTV cameras in all government schools has also been transferred to Andaman,” said the Deputy CM.
