Soren in ED remand for five more days
Ranchi: A special PMLA court on Wednesday extended the ED remand of former chief minister Hemant Soren by five days in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam, lawyers said. Soren, JMM executive president, on February 2 was remanded to five days’ ED custody by the special PMLA court which ended on Wednesday.
Sharad gets NCP Sharadchandra Pawar
New Delhi: The Election Commission on Wednesday allotted ‘Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar’ as the party name for the group led by Sharad Pawar. The order by the poll authority came a day after it gave the Nationalist Congress Party name and the “clock” election symbol to the group led by Ajit Pawar.
Two cops killed in Naxal encounter
Chatra: Two security personnel were killed in a gunfight between Naxalites and police in Chatra district on Wednesday. The incident took place at Bairio forest between Sadar and Basisthnagar Jori police station areas, around 200km from Jharkhand capital Ranchi.
