For the second consecutive day on Thursday, troublemakers made a desperate bid to attack rescue teams engaged in the Herculean task of rescuing marooned people in Srinagar, even as unconfirmed reports of dead bodies floating in Jawahar Nagar and Natipora did the rounds.
Following attacks on Indian Air Force teams, the officers decided to scale down their operations, hampering the much-needed distribution of relief material to the stranded population.
Meanwhile, facing criticism from all quarters over the complete breakdown of State Government machinery, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reacted angrily over reports of repeated attacks on rescue teams.
