Days after Arvind Kejriwal asked his party MlAs to conduct sting operations on any attempt of horse-trading by the BJP to form a Government in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday released a video showing Delhi BJP vice-president Sher Singh Dagar offering `4 crore to Dinesh Mohania, AAP MlA from Sangam Vihar. However, the BJP’s local unit has washed its hands of the controversy.
The AAP said that it would submit the raw footage to the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The matter took an interesting turn when the Congress claimed that even AAP is in touch with the party’s MlAs for Government formation.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said on Monday that he has served a show-cause notice on Sher Singh Dagar and asked him to clarify his stand.
“Our stand is very clear and we have not authorised any person in this regard,” said Upadhyay, while replying to questions on AAP’s allegations.
Against the backdrop of Government formation moves in the national Capital, Kejriwal claimed at a Press conference that Mohania was offered a handsome amount by Dagar to quit the party. He was talking to the media after playing a CD of a sting operation in which Dagar purportedly made the bribe offer.
