A 60-year-old man was on Saturday arrested for raping two minor girls for over two months in Rajouri Garden, West Delhi. Surender was arrested from his house on a complaint lodged by parents of one of the victims, police said on Sunday.
The two victims, aged between 10 and 12 years, are neighbours of the accused, who used to lure them into his house. He continued with his evil design for over two months by threatening his victims with life if they informed his activities to anybody.
“The accused raped both the girls repeatedly for the last two months. The girls study in Class V. He also threatened them of dire consequences,” said a police official, adding the girls were subjected to unnatural sex also.
A few days ago, Surender had shifted to another building in the same locality. But here also, he started luring the victims to his house to exploit them sexually. Two days ago, parents of one of the victims questioned her for coming home late from the school.
On girl’s disclosure, her parents approached Rajouri Garden police station to lodge an FIR against Surender. Police said the victim was taken to Deen Dyal Updhyay Hospital, where rape was confirmed. A case has been registered under section 376 (rape), 363 (kidnapping) of Indian Penal Code and relevant section under Protection of Children from sexual offences Act.
